There are certainly some things that will go away, yes - but by and large, the things that are difficult or hurtful, even if they go away, will come back to haunt you. Not the specific event or detail, mind you - that may dissapear forever. If you don't reconcile them however, not doing so will come back to burn you later.

it sounds a bit esoteric and ambiguous, but it sort of is. What I'm basically getting at, is if you don't grab the bull by the horns (pun intended) you won't grow as a person to be able to handle said stressful events. Anything that is worth doing is likely difficult.

Growth is life, stagnation is death.
