Even though this thread already has 200+ replies I guess I'll chime in my thoughts as someone who has been unironically only buying and holding like since late 2017-present

I have been involved in crypto markets since maybe 2014? Started with me buying drugs on the dark web to sell to college kids my freshman year of college. I was using "cool magic internet money" to buy them which led me to discovering a wider range of cryptocurrencies. At that time, everything else was just a different version of bitcoin to me. I had discovered /biz/ through a friend who was shilling me this crypto called "Ethereum" sometime in 2016 and told me that /biz/ was where everyone talked about it. At the time I didn't know shit about about crypto so Ethereum was just another version of Bitcoin with a cool logo and name. I was obsessed with buying random shitcoins because I had a mentality of "why would I buy Ethereum and get a x4 if I'm lucky when I can buy trumpcoin and get a x1000?" God, what a fucking idiot I was. Anyhow, 2017 came and I missed my shot at becoming a literal millionaire at the age of 19 because of my obsession with buying/selling shitcoins constantly, which netted me probably only close to 10k during the 17 run.

When Bitcoin was nearing 20k, and having witnessed it climb from $200, I knew the whole charade was going to be over soon and being so defeated missing my chance on Ethereum decided I was going to come back to /biz/ to find "the next Ethereum". This is around the time I discovered Chainlink. I can still remember the first "Aha!" moment, the epiphany I had when I first started getting an elementary understanding of it.

I mean really, let's be honest here, all of TA is quite laughable. Anyone who SERIOUSLY believes that you can consistently make money by drawing lines on a graph hasn't been in this game long enough to realize just how big of a waste of time it is.

TA just gnaws at something primitive in your brain. When people first start getting into investing, they really delude themselves into thinking that they can learn enough TA indicators and make money from home. I mean, who doesn't want to do that? and judging your guys lifestyle here, which is never leaving home and spending a full day on the computer, the picture starts becoming clear.
You ever see those old, decrepit boomers playing slot machines? zoned out like a zombie with all of their weird superstition about what machine they should be playing, when to bet heavy, and what game gives them the best odds? Well people who call the direction of markets based off TA share more similarities with those boomers then they like to admit.

Anyhow, the entire reasoning behind me writing this was to show the absolute brainlet-tier investing that is TA. But with OP, it actually gets worse. You see, at least when people pull their fibonacci outs, their precious Ichimoku and RSI etc. at least they are putting in the effort. The fact that someone can think FOR EVEN A SINGLE SECOND that they can achieve an edge in this market by analyzing a SINGLE CANDLE STICK is absolutely laughable. OP came home after his day of stocking shelves at his local grocery store and spots his investopedia candlestick and begins to think to himself, "finally, today is my day".
