Happiness is an excellent animation. The one detail that gets me the most is the final scene where the mouse is caught in the trap of the wage cage. When I first saw it years ago, I thought the artist was pretentious, saying that you're a lowly slaving peon by working a job for money. Now I see that the piece is a product of its time (the vid was made in 2018). Back then you were able to support yourself with at least a decent lifestyle with an office job, but the social climate at the time was if you weren't making 6-figs minimum then you were a slacker. You worked more hours, with more stress, to buy things you didn't need, with money you borrowed, to impress people you don't like. Post-covid economy now dictates everyone work stupid hours or two jobs just to get by, and the final scene becomes more of a tragedy than an unempathetic smug criticism of the working man.

The corporate-sanitized, passive-aggressive, consumerist mindset is insane in the Tri-State area. It's surreal, almost like everybody subconsciously wants to live in the Tokyo-Drift movie. There's always the undercurrent of one-upmanship in almost every interaction, especially at work, although it isn't as bad if you work blue-collar IMO. All I wanted to do with my GME gains was to move to the mid-west or the south, buy some land, maybe with a house on it or make one myself, and chill with my current and future family. God willing I'll be able to buy land large enough to have my immediate and maybe extended family come live and cultivate it as well, eventually giving back to the community and improving the situation around us as we go along. The economy is chalked, hopefully we can do some good with the wreckage.
