You got any other info on the reserve currency part? I've always felt that we (Americans) needed a soft landing on that. It is silly to think it could go on forever and one would hope our elected officials had a Plan B for when it happens. I agree that American standard of living will go down, since debt fueled consooming, marked by indefinite trade deficits, will become impossible.

I think that China will have a grasp over south america and africa by diplomacy and Russia with the Middle East. Mubarak's dream of a gold African Dinar will come true and the US will be starved for resources and luxury goods until we figure out how to self sustain.
