A global government would be a fucking disaster.
We can't even get localized governments to even agree on simple common goals.

Here's why I think the implementation of a Global Government would be a trainwreck:

- My understanding is that trade exists because their is an imbalance of government power and the people's wealth. If you level the playing field, I don't see trade being very beneficial and would result in a stagnant economy (unless we do some Star Trek "for the common good" form of economy).

- If you have a global government that does away with borders or any of that nonsense you're going to have a lot of very fucking angry people.
Everyone, to some degree, is predisposed to hating another (be it looks, race, culture, religion, belief, philosophy, etc etc).
We have castes, racial diversities, political belief, even fucking eating habits that clash in our society, and its to be believed that we'll all just make it together?
Imagine going to your local zoo and tearing down all the walls and telling everyone to play nice.

- We cant get states to like each other, we cant get politicians to work together harmoniously, we cant get everyone on the same page about anything.
How can we honestly expect a government made up of one of every ambassador to come together and agree on anything, unless their is a bias goal in mind that overrides the voting or election process of any said determination? Such a thing would render the decision process a facade, and the regions that get hurt by such decisions would be pretty seethed.

- People are naturally rebellious. Information suppression and military/civil reinforcement of this supposed new world would be necessary, and it will set off the alarm bells in the heads of a lot of people, and I dont think it'll be EZ PZ to just push a global government through.
