to put it in perspective, the modern valley / gulch bottom is probably 30m lower than it would have been before it was mined. It was first worked by guys with simple wood sluices by hand, than probably in the 1920s by chinese with hydraulic cannons that just demolished the slopes. These men made geography. And yet with all the work they did, they still left me plenty of places to work by hand or with machine soon (hopefully) as their claim boundaries were so small back than. A man with a shovel can move a hill, a man with a monitor cannon will move mountains.

I am so mad that Forest Fenns treasure was found but no I dont think theres a link to the treasure and zodiac killer. The people that died werent really prepared for the terrain they were entering, one dude I remember reading was planning a winter trip with only bear basic kit. Its similar to the Slumach story, its not a curse that kills you its the terrain.
