You can google junk silver markings for starters but for this piece I wasn't even that concerned about the markings because why even make something as beautiful as this if not from sterling? Also yeah remember to look for patina, it's all around old junk silver things. I bought this one via an online auction website and went in person to the guy who sold it. The man had silverware all around him, said he buys them from other auctions or from his buddies and sells with a profit. Had a nice 15min talk with him about silver items, he told me that patina is extremely important especially when selling to Russian oligarchs who buy these for the status value

Ehh, not that big of a problem when metals are going up. They'll get funding fairly easily and will scramble to get things done quickly now that money is on the menu. I don't agree with the ETF/fund statement provided anons learn about the industry and do their DD -- but for those who have no idea what they're getting into, yeah I agree they should go for ETFs or majors.

Let this be a lesson for you, you cannot time dips perfectly. Buy when the chart looks inviting or oversold, or just average in
