i have suffered from paranoid delusions and psychosis for months at a time, and you're right that it's no laughing matter. but at the same time (and i think this is the angle that this thread tends to come from) our society tends to demonize and pathologize any sort of perception which differs from consensus reality, when in fact those perceptions often have much to offer us and shouldn't be shunned or viewed as threatening.

for a very interesting elaboration of this viewpoint in the context of conscious objection to the vietnam war being called crazy, look up "the politics of experience" by RD Laing, great book.

with that said, it's never my intention to romanticize mental illness or disordered thought- psychosis is genuinely terrifying, not being able to trust your perceptions or thoughts is one of the scariest experiences possible. i legitimately thought that certain clouds were cloaked UFOs and that i was being gangstalked and/or surveilled by my phone and computer after posting about a UFO abduction-type experience.

i have not studied astrology deeply enough to be knowledgeable about that topic but writers and thinkers i respect and trust have said that it is real, and i think it's more than plausible that man is acted upon by the bodies in the solar system.

i read something yesterday about Adam Kadmon and how man is a microcosm of the celestial sphere, and the universe reflects man on a larger scale, and how man is positioned midway between the very small scale physics of particles and quantum phenomena and very large scale physics of celestial bodies, and how this sort of fractal resonance across scales forms the basis of sympathetic magic- "magic" being another word for technology which is not fully understood.

Anyway yeah I think astrology is real- perhaps not so much the newspaper horoscope version, but anyone who's ever had a very thorough reading of their chart done by an astrologer who has studied deeply will tell you that it's real.
