Today I YOLO'd KR LEAP calendar spreads.
If KR realized a modest sector-average P/E of around 15 that would put it in the 50s.
KR has a low IV Percentile and is about 15% above its March 2020 lows.
If either price or IV increases any time within the next 2 years I make a good profit, and it is near historical lows in both categories.
The CEO seems like a good man; he started at the bottom stocking shelves, bagging groceries, and running the register.
People are always going to need groceries even if they're sick, poor, or unemployed and Kroger is the biggest, oldest, and most established.
They've been around since the 1800s so they aren't going anywhere.
They're already employ union workers so they wouldn't be disrupted by labor rights like Amazon.
They're headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio so they probably save a lot of money on cost of living compared to Big Tech.
Everything else seemed overpriced and if the stock bubble pops or stops growing then KR would be less affected since it's not overvalued.
There could be a world-ending mutation with a 50% fatality rate and 90% unemployment rate and people would still need to get their groceries from somewhere.
