I like animation as a medium for telling particular stories. If the story is best told with animation, then i like it as anime. Hero Academia, for example, has a great season 1 for anime. season 2 belongs in a manga. most stories are not best told via anime (or good enough to use 12 20 minute episodes of my time), who knew. Anime can get a lot of things right technically, and it can definitely be appreciated that way but it's generally not worth it, and yet i still consume.
