Why do you doubt that CO2 is affecting climate change? Greenhouse gases absorb infrared light and re-release them as heat. That has the effect of increasing the average temperature with increasing atmospheric concentrations of said gases.

You say this hysteria is all about taxation but most taxes (such as in Canada) are proposed on polluting businesses and then paid back to the public as a form of dividend. What's wrong with that?
