VALE research pastebin anon checking in
(https://pastebin.com/7RCHT6tZ))
hope you all didn't sell during the crab and consolidate week!
I was worried for a little bit that people had bought in due to my posts, and then sold for a loss when it crabbed. I'm happy to see that a lot of people held and we're all making money

VALE DD anon here
Hope you bought the dip!! Great strength today for VALE
I honestly expected a much worse panic dip based on Friday news and the overall market conditions today - can't hold VALE down!
Back above $17 by 1:30pm very nice
Looks like the market realized what I was saying all weekend, that it was an accident at a deactivated mine, and will not impact sales or production whatsoever
>“It is wishful thinking that iron ore could be an exception in ongoing China-Australia trade rows,” Global Times, a tabloid backed by China’s ruling Communist Party, suggested
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-australia-trade-china-commodities-tim-idUSKBN28L0D8
More Australia uncertainty = more Brazilian ore buyers
So many calls / LEAPs bought today - huge VALE strength
Plus the news today of them expanding production
http://www.vale.com/EN/investors/information-market/Press-Releases/ReleaseDocuments/1221_Capanema_i.pdf
Vale new mining project
>Rio de Janeiro, December 21st, 2020 - Vale S.A. (“Vale”) informs that it received, last Friday, the required licenses to start the construction of the Capanema Project (or the “Project”), located in the municipalities of Santa Bárbara, Ouro Preto and Itabirito (MG) Brazil.
>With the start-up expected for the second half of 2023, the Project will have a production capacity by natural moisture (without tailings generation) of 18 Mtpy and in the first years it will bring a net addition of 14 Mtpy of capacity to Vale with the expedition through the Timbopeba site.
Really nice to see VALE strength on a day like today - hopefully we'll end above $17 too.

Also congrats to AQB “muh salmon” anon! Been tracking it hard since you drew attention to Cathie Wood has been buying
Very nice day for you! Big grats!

Reposting for my VALE bros

>Brumadinho suspende alvará da Vale após deslizamento matar funcionário
Brumadinho suspends Vale license after landslide kills employee
>PublicidadeA morte de um operadorde retroescavadeira que trabalhava na mina de Córrego do Feijão, emBrumadinho (MG)fez com que a prefeitura da cidade suspendesse o alvará de funcionamento e localização daValee suas terceirizadas no município.A medida foi publicada neste sábado, 19, em uma edição extra do Diário Oficial da cidade.
The death of a backhoe operator who worked at the Córrego do Feijão mine in Brumadinho (MG) caused the city government to suspend the operating license and location of Valee and its contractors in the municipality. The measure was published on Saturday, 19 extra edition of the Official Gazette of the city.

After doing a LOT more digging (and someone please link it if you can find evidence to the contrary) the Córrego do Feijão mine located near Brumadinho is not / has not ever been expected to resume operations and produce iron again

I cannot find anything either in VALE's investing documents or anywhere online indicating that the Córrego do Feijão mine is/was expected to be producing ore ever again
As such, this event may be an even bigger nothing burger than I originally thought, since the production of iron isn’t affected whatsoever
It doesn't matter if VALE had their license suspended to do maintenance at a dead mine.
I had originally posted that this would result in 7 million tons less iron - I was very wrong about this - that's the Samarco mine near Minas Gerais (which is currently getting up and running)

There still might be a sell-off on Monday pre-market as this news will take time to reach foreign investors - but I would not worry or panic sell. If it does dip - buy the dip. The fundamentals have not changed

This was in April 2020 when shit was at it's worst worldwide

>310 million and 330 million tonnes of iron ore fines this year, down from the 340 million to 355 million it had forecast earlier.
So they were/are producing ~320 million tonnes compared to 347.5 million tonnes previously forecast
27.5 million tonnes less = 7.9% less production
How much has the price of iron risen in the last 6 months?
It's sort of like OPEC when they cut production, and end up making more money because the price of oil goes up more
They just re-opened this week the mine that closed from the dam disaster in 2015 (a huge step in revamping production, at a time where it couldn't be better: iron all time high)
