/biz/ is absolutely spammed by them. Always 1 post OPs with a question that obviously isn't of interest to anyone. The girls they post are also rough. If it's just bot spam, why?

A little unorthodox of a /biz/ post, I know, but I have an economics/finance question, kind of.

A ransom is of course where a person or other good is kept hostage until some quantity of money is paid off, at which point the person or good is released.

Say you have a variation on this where, as more and more money is raised, more and more of the good (assuming it's divisible) is released. Is there a specific name for this?

I seem to recall hearing of ransoms where the kidnappers offered to return only certain body parts in the event that the full ransom wasn't paid.

To be clear, I'm not actually doing anything nefarious here. I'm actually experimenting with adapting a ransom-like system for funding digital goods (especially those that can be considered public goods, and that are often prone to piracy), and I was wondering if there was a pre-existing term I could adopt.
