the (contemporary day) rich became rich through industrialization, which was done on the backs of common man labor. When it was time to do their part by reinvesting into the society that made them rich, by upholding schools, renovating factories, etc, they simply packed up and left - their money moved offshore and their factories went to China. That is why we have disgusting post-industrial cities that look like some shit out of Mad Max. Again, I am not a communist, but reality is reality - and if the businesses fucked with the common folk this way, the common folk should NOT be bootlicking.
