My meat? I have a 6 cubic foot freezer for venison alone, and aside from gas and time, I feed my family all winter on organic lean meat for the low cost of several .243 rounds. Or more, I’m older and my shooting sucks. I also love beef, so I buy 2 calves every spring and have an arrangement with a local rancher to tend them- free range, only obligations on me if any emergency care were needed (and by that, I mean immediate butchering). By end of cost I have 1.00 per pound butchered weight in my processed steers- and that includes my pick of steaks. I’m a huge consumer of burger so I grind my round and bullshit cuts. I sell the rest at $5.00 per lb. wrapped. Last steer I sold was a pure profit of $300.00, and my initial investment was cleared. And I have a deep freeze full of delicious local raised steaks. Get at me.
