What’s your opinion on a down payment for a home?

First time buyer here, need a home for the family, I have 30k in cash ready for a down payment. I was debating saving more for a better loan but I don’t know, never bought a home, anyone have experience or share to input?

I love my job, I’m an insurance salesman. Work from home, most days only be productive for 3-4 hours max, and I make 6 figures with bonuses.

I’m quitting my job this weekend for a remote insurance gig. I have my own online business that nets me 40k a year, the insurance gig will be between 70-100k. My current job barely pays 50k and I commute over an hour a day, work 6-7 days a week often. The ceo is a massive Boomer that spreads toxic culture like wildfire, constantly threatens to fire people, including myself even though I’m in the top of my position at the company. Dude has had 18 out of 19 managers quit in less than a year, and assumes it’s because no one can handle the job in reality his wages are shit and people are sick of being treated like work slaves.
