I was given a job offer by a company and I accepted it, they’re doing my background check right now and I’m scheduled to start in a week. But I was just given another job offer that I didn’t think I’d get for a lower paying job but one I’m much more interested in. If I accept it am I a bad person for accepting the other job but then quitting before my first day? I really want to do the second one but I’d feel awful about stringing along the first company like that.

I’m applying to jobs right now, how long is considered too long to respond to an email about an interview or application where it looks bad? I got an email yesterday about an interview and I thought I responded, but I guess I’ only saved it as a draft and so from their perspective they sent me an email yesterday morning and I responded the next afternoon. Will that make me look bad?
