on November 13, 2020, the G20 will meet to discuss debt relief measures in response to the Coronavirus pandemic, which by then will have presumably shut down most of Europe, South America, and possibly the US as well.

the measures being discussed will include the issuance of digital currencies by central banks. this has been in the works for a long time but in the last month or two has been getting a lot of press, most notably from the IMF in their recent meeting to discuss cross border payments.

You might have heard that China is in the process of rolling out their digital Yuan:

Canada is making noise about rolling out theirs as well (remember that Canada is tied to England through the commonwealth)

When all these digital currencies get rolled out, they will need an intermediary between them, a "bridge" to facilitate cross-border payments. this will be Ripple.
