Futures price behaviour in earnings season:
-downward pressure overnight due to de-risking on earnings reports set for the following day
-if earnings reports are good and market is willing, that overnight de-risking turns to flood straight back in during the day after said AM earnings but may slump back down again around power hour as de-risking for the PM earnings calls occurs.
The result is snibby business unless/until key blue chip companies come through with the goods and instill a greater confidence in equities for the remainder of the earnings to come. This same thing happened last week with banks.
