It may be that even a limited state will eventually grow into a gigantic parasite that eventually kills its host. I do not see how people could ever democratically reach the conclusion that public spending should be cut. It is always the rational choice for the majority to vote for more public spending to be used for their own benefit. Those who want other people's money are always in the majority. The productive minority will bear the burden of increasing taxation until the system collapses.
