Earth bag homes ( houses made of dirtbags) are fairly modern and lots of people around the world who want to be financially free from debt and mortgage are building them in rural places where there are no building codes. Alaska is great for this. And they look really nice when done. I don't think my grandpas would want to build one or have one it's kind of a newer concept and better for a young person. They are old and already own a house ( that took them half there life's to pay off.) where I can build a earthbag home for 1/50th of the price not owe money to a bank and have lots of cash left over to play with. Earthbag homes are earthquake proof fire resistant and flood resistant they are great economical homes to build for someone who is young and wants a nice permanent home for dirt cheap (literally)
