Things got really heated last summer out in the gold fields, there were a number of shootouts with bandits trying to steal whole mine setups. They got caught by RCMP trying to flee to Alberta. It is a "wild west" sort of lifestyle but no where near what it could be if gold went to $5k an ounce.
