The only reason people buy BTC is because they believe the price will go up. The tech itself is worthless.

If the price dumps to the gutter it will never recover because bagholders will have lost their savings, the myth of the price mooning is busted, and there is no technical foundation to keep investors interested.

besides even if lightning worked it is still a bad idea...

channels are only moving funds from one end to another. a payment doesn't "flow" through channels as if flowing through tubes, instead the channels shift their balances from one end to the other

going to the pub or grocery shop or wherever only to find out that your channel has 0 balance because someone else paid through it is a terrible user experience. now you have to fund your channel again with an on-chain transaction. you can't use someone else's channel because then yours wouldn't have been depleted by someone else.

it's not a good idea even if it worked.

Don't forget the best part, with Lightning Network other people can spend your channel so that you randomly need to open a new one with an on-chain payment.

Imagine going to the pub and wanting to pay for your beer over the Lightning Network. Denied! Looks like it's empty since some random person went there the night before and paid through your channel.

I went from a btc maximalist to a all coins are maybe valuable and back to a mostly bch is the only valuable thing except a few others, but btc is worth less than nothing just from watching these guys get their asses kicked every day the last few months. When it started out they just had emotional taunts and they weren't even trying to argue for anything but they've recently gotten desperate enough they just lie continuously with zero evidence whatsoever in a really obvious way.
It's fucking strange to watch unfold. It really does seem like the bch crew were right all along about AXA / blockstream / Wall Street sabotage and subversion.
