One of the things an ignorant ego does, if you are loving and empathetic, they will abuse all of that to take advantage of you for their selfish purpose. The ego looks for loopholes in everything. You can tolerate for a while but eventually you reach a point where you lose it and trigger an emotional over-reaction. Then they will use that against you “Haha! You are not nice! We were gaslighting you for years and you finally said some thing about it. We will gaslight you even more now!”
