Non-dividend stocks can work too. If you find a stock that could pay dividends but doesn't (perhaps it does share buybacks or builds up cash instead), you can sell a small fraction of your shares regularly. It's basically the same as a dividend.

For this to work, you need a few things:

>The share price shouldn't be much larger than the amount you want to sell. Or you can sell fractional shares.
For example, if you want to cash out $100 per quarter, BKNG won't work because its share price is often around $3000.

>Trading costs should be very low.
These include broker commissions, the bid-ask spread, etc.
