Well for starters LINK is a utility token therefore it is not a security. The ICO was mostly for institutional investors and they only opened 2million up to the public where there was a buy order limit. Sergey has intended for no speculation around the price of LINK due to zero marketing. Until recently which he probably under the radar got rights to do so. All of the partnerships as of yet have been announced by other companies and Sergey cannot control this.
The price rocketed due to a group of autistic people on /biz/ shilling the fuck out of it yourself probably included.
