Hey guys, forgive a newfag here. At least to PMG. My father always collected coins, went to shows and dealt with the local exchanges a lot. he never collected bullion, only numismatic. About 10 years I started collecting some bullion but trailed off and haven't done it in a while. i want to get back into it but i'm really interested in collecting st. gaudens double eagles. somewhat influenced by my late father. just an absolutely beautiful coin. however, is it really worth the premium? they look to be about 2050-2100 with AU with current spot for about .90 of an ounce. is it this dumb play? should i just get the cheapest bullion i can. also i'd like a silver equal, but it seems to be the peace dollar. premium on those is ridiculous, has it always been this bad or is it just due to the last couple of years and all the newfags like me driving the premium prices up?

thanks for any tips.
