Zone 6 here, but family tradition has a certain date in May when I plant the tomatoes properly, so they get babied for a few weeks more. Drip systems are amazing for how little effort they require. I'm operating without much land right now so I'm kinda limited in my planting, but I'm scouting farmland too my dude. Probably at least one plot for hardwood tree farming, one for a proper orchard, some pastures for sheep goats and cows, and however much land I think I can handle making into a permaculture food forest.
Regarless of if we go into a deflationary or inflationary spiral, there will be plenty of people looking for work and food, and i expect to have enough funds to hire hands for anything I'm too busy or exhausted to do myself. Kinda looking forward to being a well-funded pillar of a rural community.
