Solid state materials scientist here. I have no knowledge or experience in financial stuff so all i can do is say that i think demand for gold will increase. Here's why

I clicked biz by accident but saw some thread on precious metals. I thought i would give out a tip.

Stretchable electronics are the future. As in you tattoo a circuit right on to your body, or weave stretchable wires into clothing. Imagine an apple watch integrated into your skin, or into a shirt.

Stretchable electronics have 2 main paths: Metals or conductive polymers. Chance of achieving useful materials from either of them is roughly equal.

Someone who invests in precious metals then will want to keep an eye out on GOLD and to a lesser extent TITANIUM. Why?

Gold is the conductive material of choice because it doesnt oxidize and is very easy to work with in fabrication. Titanium is kind of like the glue that binds the gold to the underlying surface. Another material may replace this but this is the standard for now.

There are many labs working on stretchable electronics now, with a larger uptick since the boom in OLED technology (thin, low power, FLEXIBLE) and lithium battery technology (light weight, efficient, new batteries on horizon).

Flexible is the precursor to stretchable. Stretchable OLED type displays are coming.

And why does this matter? Copper won't be as of much use in stretchable electronics, gold will mostly replace it.

I see that as an increased demand for gold.

I cant tell you who I am, but my brother is a janitor who works at one of the offices who provided financial assistance to one of the funds who helped bail out Melvin and co.

He overheard the higherups talking about some of these reddit users actually being suspected corporate entities who are trying to arrange a takeover by pushing them into bankruptcy.

He said that they said these guys actions lined up with previous failed negotiation attempts and it's like they had deep insider info on the inner workings of these hedges, likely former employees.

He said not only did some of these reddit guys make almost prophetic moves in the market at critical times, they also divulged information on future moves that were still internal at the time.

He said that they are only in this to bankrupt some rival agencies and that at the right time they are going to sell and leave everyone else holding the bags.
