Newfag here. Have been browsing /biz/ for some time but still can't figure out this whole crypto scam. Do you people really manage to make money out of it? Why do people bother to put their fiat money into internet meme coins? Is there any underlying value to a cryptocurrency? Then again I guess that "value" doesn't really mean anything and it is all about supply and demand, but why would there be a demand for crypto? Do people really think that one of these coins will somehow become desirable for actual transactions? It seems to me like people in crypto are simply trying to scam each other by letting someone else buy their bags. But I'm just an ignorant fool, so I'm not sure. Can any patient Anon try to explain to me how it all works?

Also, besides crypto, what else do you people do in order to try to make money? I rarely see people talking about small businesses here. As for stocks, is it worth it to try to learn about them or is it a waste of time and only index funds are worth it?
