I've been following this for a couple days now, so I'm still new to this, but why was this specific stock so heavily shorted?

Did it occur naturally? Did they make a mistake? Or do you think it was intentional?

One thing that comes to mind is from The Art of War. A strategy where you appear weak to lure in your opponent.

I'm sure these Hedge Funds are well versed in market tactics and would rarely do things without considering the consequences (not saying they can't screw up).

So my question is, do you think this may have been done intentionally to have the government further regulate the market to their advantage? A sort of regulatory captivity by making the barriers to entry for average people more difficult?

I'm a retard so this is all speculation but I'm interested in what you guys think.
