In a desperate attempt to save themselves the nation states will hand over power to a world government that promises to crack down on the bitcoin revolution, the very thing that promises to save the nation states will also completely destroy any sovereignty they once had. Debating about climate change is pointless because at the end of the day absolutely nobody besides some commune hippies and varg vickernes types are doing anything to lower their stand of living(which is ultimately the only thing you can do to reduce carbon emissions). The entire transportation network is 100% dependent on oil, the only exception being some electric trains(which use electricity from coal/natural gas plants) and a minuscule amount of person vehicles, renewable energy is a meme if you wanted to replace all fossil fuel energy with batteries it would require mining operations that make the Alberta oil sands look like a fucking joke, and you cannot transport it in pipelines like oil, so you need even MORE oil powered heavy machinery to move everything around, also the oil industry is basically broke and hemorrhaging money ever since the collapse in prices back in 2014 and there is still no replacement.
