The main use of smart contracts in Ethereum today is management of ERC20 tokens, which are a common functionality in most smart contract networks.The current focus on tokens to the exclusion of many other possible applications is due to a lack of adequate oracle services.

No not yet, this is only my ropsten node so I can test the external adapters I plan to do.

But, as soon as I get one of the external adapters going and can request it properly I'm going to start applying to get through kyc stuff.

I'm also not quite ready to give my identity yet until chainlink gets a little bit bigger so ill wait to do sybil until the last step.

I'm not just doing the core adapters so its gonna take a little longer for the kyc process anyways most likely.

In regards to Chain Link I have understood this idea since the beginning. However, no one has produced a user interface or api that can survive in the real world. when that happens it is a great solution. however, i am still of the opinion that centralized, sharded, replicated,systems are infinitely superior to distributed systems, and that all that will occur is that this research will end up being imitated by a centrally run system that is accountable and insurable, and not by a distributed system that is not accutnable or insurable.
