For more serious research, open coingecko and/or coinmarketcap, click on a coin, check their website, click around a lot, check if they have different social media, check their videos.
Also bitcoin whitepaper is a must read, ethereum whitepaper is a bit more difficult but I would recommend reading it as well.
Use google to its full capability, wikipedia also has comprehensive information about the normie crypto projects. Let me just tell you, there is loads of information.

I think right now, a very important topic to learn about is DeFi. So, I recommend you speedrun till you understand its full potential. Maybe you don't find it that difficult to understand if I link you this:

This is the hype right now, you might need to learn a little bit about ethereum to fully grasp it. Technical knowledge is a huge plus. But after this, search DeFi on google. Click a few links, click around, see the projects that people have been working on. Also go to coingecko, click DeFi and explore the top projects. Maybe download an app or two, what I'm giving you is key. Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ripple, etc? All boomer trash. DeFi is the most important development right now and ethereum is the most developed on platform. This will guide you in the right direction in our current market.
