To add to this, one of the best conversational techniques you can learn when making random small talk, is to make other people feel like their the smartest person in the room when you talk to them. Let them ramble about their past work experience or odd hobby to a degree, and don't look visibly uninterested. Its a powerful psychological "in" that brings you forward in their minds when they are asked who they might trust to handle something. You don't have to have fake used car salesman energy or anything, just let them be an expert on something for a few minutes. I learned this from my 78 year old advisor in grad school who swore by it for schmoozing with admins, feds, and deans. Its a powerful move.

This is actually terrible advice unless you're in a 100% confirmed dead-end position. You don't have to be superman and volunteer to do other people's work, but you should make it clear that you want to learn and are open to either additional training, professional development, or have skills that could be used to make work smoother. My first real job out of school was at a startup that built water treatment equipment, so I made it a point to learn a bunch of 5S stuff, and went around the shop floor asking guys what they would like to have that could make their work stations less of a clusterfuck. I made a project out of getting them pegboards and setting up their areas so tools wouldn't wander off and they had to spend less time hunting down random fittings. Because I made it a point to make sure other people had the tools they needed to do their jobs, I was asked if I wanted to go to a PD class for learning to manage.

Basically, just be open to making small things better and you'll be amazed at how responsive your management will be.

You're actually retarded, and I hope you're only playing at being this much of an angry child with a persecution complex.

Someone in your firm thinks you have what it takes to be put in charge of other people, and they're willing to put you through a fast-track professional development series to give you the bare bones book knowledge you'll need to manage others. This is a good thing, anon. They see you are capable in your current role, they're likely looking to hire in that area, and they want you to oversee a small number of employees that will be doing your old job.

You are literally being offered training and upward movement by your company, which is painfully rare these days, and bitching about it. Unfuck yourself, realize that you have a change to NOT be the boss everyone hates, and get at it. Even if you move jobs later, even a little managerial experience is massive on a resume.

Or just refuse to go, deadend your career, and make 100000 more posts with a shot from Falling Down that go

More incoherent garbage. You desperately want it to be true that an entire segment of society that you do not and cannot participate in is an inherent evil. For the sake of you ego, you need it to be true that private industry would only ever pay for graduate level research because doing so gives them some minor pull with a single department in a university, or because, apparently, doing so gets you some sort of nebulously defined bonus points.

You're such a god-tier reseacher too; you can't imagine a world where a competent person, due to the nature of the work, spends years getting "no" as the answer to every question that they ask. You want some examples of years of failure to get a right answer?

>SSZ-13 zeolite, the final useful product of almost 12 years of Shell's best and brightest doing work on artificial ceramics for separations that could avoiding propane poisoning.

>Chlorampenicol, first artificially synthesized antibiotic was finally achieved in 1949 by a team led by a man trying and failing to do so for four years.

>Troy, functionally erased from the map and hunted for over millenia. Heinrich Schliemann finds it at 49 years old after decades of fruitless, obsessive research.

Good research is well documented, repeatable by others, and ultimately, incrementally or by leaps moves a field forward. No ones spins their wheels for "decades and decades"; they're producing negative results and giving well informed reasons and mechanisms of failures. And with a large enough understanding of failure conditions, you can often figure out the case for success. That's literally the theory behind quite of bit of Fisher's statistics.

If you're such a fucking wizard, why don't you post the DOIs of two publications or patents you're on as an author. Don't worry about outing yourself, so long as you can pick some with the same set of advisors/coauthors we won't know which one you are.

Yes, as Peter Hitchens has said, the UK has been transformed from a manufacturing/exports economy to a low-wage service economy.

The cost for extracting ore is covered as a byproduct of base metals mining, but not the refining train, which is distinct and much more costly due to the low concentrations of silver in the ore compared to copper, lead, iron, and tin.

Keep up pajeet, your character was supposed to be a fed who is also an expert in refining, who also makes millions a year and has literal tons of bullion. Did you get excited from breaking the rules and forget?

This is next level SLV shilling. PwC didn't find anything suspicious because if they did, they'd be blackballed across the sector, and JPM would just get someone else to do the audit who would play ball. Its the same reason that the rating agencies were willingly blind to the risks of the mortgage bubble in 2008. And JPM may not 'own' it, but they are most definitely the custodians of the metal, in the same way HSBC is the custodian firm of the gold exchange. And since nobody really knows which portion of what bar belongs to who anymore, you better believe that they have been using it as loan backing. The only reason you don't provide a serial# list is if you did what the US did with Geramany's gold: you already spent it so you have to steal Ghadaffi's gold and pay them back with that after melting it down.

Again, you don't own any SLV so this if for the innocents.

Even in America, if you're not a retard, they not only pay you to get an undergrad degree, they pay for your grad school too. And when you're not retarded in America and you earned that degree doing industrially relevant separations research under a big name in the field, you get handed a choice of opportunities because your boss has been generating quality grads for decades and all his industrial contacts trust them to be capable almost sight-unseen. Face it, hard work does pays off, being bright pays off, but more importantly, being willing to take up responsibility makes people want to trust you.

When was the last time someone in your life trusted you to do something more critical than take out the garbage?
