and I guess almost pure profit. Invested like 15-20k in 2015-16 and 7k in 2013 but was too late for BTC bull back then. At least I went with LTC from $9 to around $28.
Anyway. Just wanted to say that people like me still lurk here.
Quality of /biz/ has gone down tremendously and posts are less honest and genuine than back in the day, but it's still a nice place to be from time to time.

I know the difference between net buys and trading volume. The volume required for Dogecoin right now is ok ~2.7% and will halve of that after the halvening.

Daily LTC mining equals 2.6% of LTC trading volume (157k$ mined/ 5700k$ volume) and the mighty Bitcoin even mines 9.3% ( 2.1M$ mined / 23.2M$ volume).

All the new coins (XMR, BTSX, Ethereum, XRP, etc.) have nice features but:
1. Their overall follower base is relatively low,
2. their business models are partial obscure if you really try to understand them ( very nice researched article on Bitshares: http://prestonbyrne.com/2014/08/17/dont-walk-away-run/ ) and
3. I do not like the overall IPO / ex nihilo coin creation that many of the newly hyped coins seem to incorporate in one way or another.

Disclaimer: I currently hold 30.000.000 Dogecoin, 2300 LTC, 10 BTC (and 250M PND for fun)

idiosyncratic risk form LTC is moderate and I think at the moment LTC represents the sweet spot for crypto investments.

There are only few scenarios where LTC goes belly up and the other cryptos do well.

While BTC is too mainstream other cryptos are too exotic/volatile/illiquid.
