Thanks fren. I think biggest revelation for me in ongoing learning process was these two: 1. stop losses are your fren, even if they screw you sometimes and, 2. missing out on a gain > losing a bunch of money on a trade you chose wrong. The conflict over stop losses is mainly a difference between short term strats vs. long hodl. Long hodlers tend to either put their stops pretty far below current price action OR forego stops entirely in favor of using the dips to cost average and accumulate cheapies. This is good strategy if your intended hold period is lengthy, a year or more. Not a good strategy if your whole approach is to grab small-medium sized profits over a much shorter period of time.

Maybe over the very long term that's true from a certain point of view. There's definitely something to be said for zooming out to twenty years worth of chart history in log scale and slapping down a trend line. I remember a boomer trader posted a projected 80% retrace for Bitcoin on Twitter during the max fomo period and turned out to be very close using that kind of TA.
