What can we do about the Tether guys printing billions of fake money to inflate the crypto market?

>Tether prints hundreds of millions of dollars worth of its own "totally audited and backed up" cryptocurrency
>less than a week later, LINK and BTC start going up massively

How do we protect ourselves from this market manipulation? We sell before they dump on us? Or are we playing into their hands by selling them our crypto bags in exchange of fake money (USD and USDT)?
