I'll be 32 this year and I've started working full-time for the last 6 months. 40+ hour weeks.

I've gambled so much money away and now, I make about 90k usd a year pre tax

Is this acceptable for a 31 going on 32 year old who lives in a state with no income tax?

My parents actually did buy a house in 1985, a big boomer McMansion. Paid it off by 1997.

They then started a business which failed and they were forced to sell their house. They never got back into the housing market after that.

They bought it for 74k in 1985, paid off by 1997, forced to sell in 2001 for 330k, now the house recently sold for 2.7m and looking at the online photos of the house, very little was changed about it, it’s basically 99% the same as it was when my parents had fixed it up from 1985 - 2001
So in 38 years the house went from $74K to $2.7M and my parents missed out on those gains.

That means I’ve personally missed out on what would have been a multimillion dollar inheritance.
