What will actually happen is that a lot of places will install XRF thermo coin machines where you top up your store credit then use your card once you've done your shop. This won't apply to small businesses because that would be a barrier to exchange, but places like Aldi will be able to as they are pretty much guaranteed to get the same customers every week.
