>postal workers enriching themselves

I lost a 1/10oz AGE because of some subhuman USPS worker in Philadelphia. Got a refund though and immediately spent it on 21 ounces of sterling silver. Gold hasn't done shit but my Silver has been killing it.

Pretty sure it's just reddit refugees and normie tourists shilling Silver everywhere, seems like we may be going mainstream (again) soon so grab yourself a little bit in case us millennial boomerstackers are on to something.

Thx for the (you)s frens, /pmg/bros get treated for free along with my local marksman allies. Bring me fresh desperate customers and we'll split the lucre, quite literally if all they have left are wedding rings or dearly departed grandma's heirloom jewelry.
Realistically total collapse won't likely occur and I'll probably just keep humbly scrapping, but it's always good to have options and things to bring to the table beyond just PMs.

>Your stack is the best here.

Thanks but unlikely, I'm good at hunting and hoarding cheap silver and "sleeper" (unrecognized by everyone but me) ancient artifacts, numismatics and all types of antiques but am a self employed dropout so don't have the stable income that most here probably enjoy. That resiliency will probably be helpful going forward but I'm pretty jelly of the well-paid Goldchads and savvy market traders, ngl. Got something to aspire to and great anons here to learn from though so thanks again.

Mostly eBay and directly from the metal detectorists themselves working ground all over Europe. Can't find it myself here in Burgerstan but the depths of the internet is fertile enough soil for me. If you're looking for anything ancient in particular I can point you in the right direction, it's a minefield out there.

If anyone wants me to evaluate any arcane ancient stuff I'd be happy to help you avoid fakes and find excellent good-price dealers, but that's probably even less useful than the scrapping tips which objectively aren't as useful or profitable as the education in the markets generally or in the mining sector in particular that I get here.

>Maybe I just need to hunt for more sterling stuff

Do it fren, about an hour ago I bought a BIN sterling bowl for $40 shipped, melt value $128. Bought other scrap silver things too but that's the best deal I've snagged so far today on eBay. Plenty of cheap scrap to go around.

>what kind of search terms do you use on EBay to find old silver?

Continental silver alloys most common in the Netherlands are probably more varied, in the USA the vast majority and most popular was sterling .925 so here I search "sterling" only in the "antiques" category (no further subcategory refinement necessary) with the search results sorted most recent first, "Buy it Now" listings only.

This way you are among the first to see possible awesome good deals that always sell quickly and would always get bid up to much higher prices if listed only as an auction. You refresh the results periodically and hope some noob just listed a kilo worth for $100.

Being a continental euro you may need to search ".800 silber" .830, .835, maybe other local alloys that we don't see much in burgerstan. Good luck!

>do pretty well with salt shakers etc but a solid ring of it is new territory for me.

Cool man, I also really like shakers; not as many people are comfy with them so deals are more common. The solid ring should be a good score, keep learning and scrapping fren!

>Buy prices?

I'd be comfy spending ~$35 total shipped for a 6" by 6" pedestal compote.

If I see salt and pepper shaker sets for under 15 shipped I'll buy ASAP unless they are the goofy mini shakers or Duchin Creations or Empire brand foil-gauge crap with internal glass bottles that the caps actually screw on to (allows them to use really thin silver).

I buy many sugar and creamer sets if they are under 50 total and never turn down a set for under 40 total.

A very good option if you like using tools is splitting (or melting) off the sterling dinner knife (and other implement) handles. Full size dinner knives yield about 20 grams each on average and many people don't know or want to bother with them so you can pick them up all day via BIN as well as normal auctions at worthwhile prices. I really like them as a source because there are lots of knives out there and I run against minimal competition for them. Takes more work to extract but that's probably why you can get them affordably so easily compared with other sterling scrap.

Right now, basically any sterling that costs ~0.50/gram or less I buy instantly, however beware of jewelry scrap batches as stones and misidentified/unmarked junk metal eat into yields and it's obnoxiously fiddly and lightweight stuff to deal with even if everything turns out legit. Trust me just avoid jewelry batches unless you're absolutely certain it's a great deal, not worth the headache otherwise.

Cheapo scrap this spring has helped keep the average maybe around 17.50/Ozt so far for my refined bullion this year. Right now I'm happy keeping costs under 20 which is easier now with the spot hammerdown.

Around 9.2kg clean sterling in that basket, probably have 16-17kg worth built up for the refinery right now (after several hours of processing still required). Good way to bypass the Eternal Premium and average down your other bullion purchases.

Just a pile of cheap scrap sterling in the other boxes, about 3 kilos worth added to the pile for the refinery that day.

And yep you're right, nostack ngmianon ain't shit.

>we’re all gonna make it.

I've been considering the prospects of stackers in these wild times and have concluded that everyone who has educated themselves about fiat systems, hard money and productive assets is at least intellectually prepared to navigate the next decade, even if they're still stacklets right now. Knowledge is power, and a stacklet who knows what's going on will be able to position much more wisely, nimbly and profitably than a richfag lacking that same understanding.

So while I am of the dragon camp and have completely reconfigured my daily life and budgetary allocations in service of stacking as much as possible (I love handling my scrap so no complaints), I believe that everyone who "gets it" will make it regardless of how much metal they're sitting on. More metal is always good, but actually understanding it and knowing how to deploy it is priceless.

With your 6 eagles you'll be over 60 ounces, apparently the division between the top 1% of silver holders and everyone else, but let's shoot for triple digits at least!

Chek'd

Didn't really mean to ruse you fine folk, everything else was my scrapsperg specialty. 2 kilos of sterling ready for the crucible on the scale and enough weighted stuff and sterling handles (will take a couple hours to break down and clean up) to get a solid 3 kilos back from my refinery.

It takes more work, but is way cheaper than buying it already refined. Doesn't hurt to diversify sometimes though.
