There is nothing wrong with using a hardware wallet like Ledger or Trezor. Thousands of people trust millions and even billions of dollars in bitcoin and monero to these hardware wallets. But that doesn't mean there aren't risk vectors (Ledger's customer database is available on the deep web, which is a perfect recipe for phishing or literally home breaking invasions), plus other limitations like replicability.
I sincerely believe that switching to Linux -- at least on a separate device -- will be easier than you think. Linux today is a very robust and easy to use OS. Creating a so called Live OS Linux on a USB stick is also very easy and there are several open source tools that basically hold your hand and do everything for you (e.g. Rufus) -- just download the .iso image of the Linux distribution you wish to install (I recommend something based on Debian, like Ubuntu, Mint, Tails (advanced) or Debian testing itself).
Summary, if you've never used Linux in your life, get an old laptop or install a virtual machine on your Windows and install Linux Ubuntu or Linux Mint. Then if you want to venture a bit, install Rufus (https://github.com/pbatard/rufus/releases/)) on your Windows and create a USB Live Linux OS with persistent storage and do some testing. Remember to do several tests and a rehearsal before going ahead any backup plan.

Zcash, a centralized coin with Devs talking about putting in backdoors, and opt in privacy (which is basically stupid). Also if you look into it only 1-3 fully shielded transactions are made on Zcash every day, what a joke of an anonymity set lmao.

OP, go with Monero and Hodl. Learn about it, and DYOR and you will see its the future.

Bitcoin will most likely never have fungibility
>but we will add privacy on layer two

Privacy features on an inherently transparent chain will invariably have weaker properties than privacy features on an inherently opaque chain such as Monero. In addition, any privacy feature that is getting implemented will be optional. History has shown us that features that are optional will not get any traction, as people are lazy and will opt for the default, which is transparent transactions in case of Bitcoin.

Furthermore, fungibility (which is an essential property of sound money and ensures the concept of taint does not exist) can only be achieved with privacy by default. Given that Bitcoin's current narrative is to never hard fork again (unless emergency hard fork), I deem it quite unlikely that Bitcoin will ever have proper default privacy or fungibility.

The Tl:DR of the coin is it is a centralized/permissioned coin with giant corporations who paid 10M to be nodes. These funds will be used to back the coin with a basket of currencies and bonds. Basically the wechat/alipay of the west with all the dystopian drama of your worst nightmares. Shutdown someone's Libra account for being a "dissident" and they can't buy food in a world without cash.

If you are not aware the IMF has their own currency called the SDR which is basically a basket of currencies combined into a single unit which they wish to be used as a one world currency.
Llibra sounds shockingly similar to the SDR (basket of currencies and bonds), and to me it seems they are using FB and other large corporations as a cover to push their master plan.
I submit the endgame of this project is ultimately to BAN CASH in a roundabout way and lead to the IMF's end goal of instilling negative interest rates on cash.
But if they push Libra onto the masses because its "simple and easy" and we are helping the 3B unbanked (who almost always use cash) they can start instituting negative rates on cash via an exchange rate. See the link below on their website for how they would do it. Just replace "e-dollars" with Libra.

https://blogs.imf.org/2019/02/05/cashing-in-how-to-make-negative-interest-rates-work/
They are going to try to prolong the death of FIAT for as long as possible but ultimately they know they are dead in the water.
Implications > Buy monero, Buy bitcoin and understand we are at a crossroads to a better world without central bankers. We don't need their IMF fake crypto( wrapped in a FB wrapper). They can try but this time they will fail, they are only slowing down their inevitable downfall.
Hardest money wins.

I would guess in a few months when btc will have near to a tril mcap we will have taxes on crypto - and i dont mean when we sell but taxes on just holding crypto.
Monero is the only real true privacy coin - also it has been around for a long time so all you verge shills can fuck of.

My guess would be millionares would want to hide their money to avoid taxes....and monero is the best option for that.

Also the guberment can ban Monero on exchanges, but soon we will have atomic swaps and if you have millions in crypto, you wouldnt mind paying a geek a few 10k to transfer your btc to xmr.

Out of all the alts, i think monero is the only one having a certain future....

Eaven if btc gets the LN and monero becomes obsolete because it is slow it will still be a offshore crypto bank account....

Toughts?
