Why do all the great investors say that your best bet is to just put your money in an index if you're the average Joe? Why is it that they feel compelled to say that the market trends upwards? Whats the actual proof of this other than saying something along the lines of "Technological advancement, efficiency, innovation" isn't that speculation/observation that the market trends upwards? Sure its been going that way for a long time but if thats the ideology you take, you may as well argue that with an individual stock then?

I would like to help /biz/. So I'll list some general advice to help you buddy buds to make profit. If you have any questions feel free to ask them.

First piece of advice: Never chase highs but you them as measure to see where the price of a coin will go. If something is 1. NOT a pump and dump, IF its up 50% don't buy in but wait until it corrects to buy in. The high shows the potential of the price of that particular coin.

I know this might seem boring in straight forward but I feel it's a good grounding to hold and increase profits.

I don't get it. Why is this board named /biz/ instead of /btc/ ?

Why do people talk about their altcoins in terms of BTC-value rather than USD even though the price of BTC is unstable?
An example: Let's say one altcoin (ALT) is traded for one BTC atm, which is worth $2000. Then something crazy happens and over one day BTC rises to $4000. What's gonna happen now? The price of one ALT should stay at $2000 but fall to 0.5 BTC and look like a total crash, right? Wouldn't it make more sense to only think in terms of USD values and translate every BTC price to USD when looking at charts/considering a trade?
