>Like a computer without Internet, blockchain-based smart contracts have inherent value on their own, such as creating and swapping tokens. However, they become exponentially more powerful when externally connected to the vast and accelerating data and API economy taking root outside the blockchain ecosystem (off-chain).

>Smart contracts can become the dominant form of digital agreement across all the major markets if they successfully tap into the vast data reservoir generated by data providers, web APIs, enterprise systems, cloud providers, IoT devices, payment systems, other blockchains, and much more.

>When you have a trustworthy committee, there’s an awful lot you can do beyond merely relaying data.
trustworthy committees are the foundation for entering into any kind of business arrangement
what Ari is trying to articulate is that chainlink will change the way P2P and B2B business is done. It may make a lot of these previous acronyms that we currently use in the business world obsolete.

The funny thing that I've noticed is that the english language doesn't yet have the words to properly explain and describe what this technology is and our linguistics actually needs to catch up to these developments. It's a funny observation.

they will eventually have to split the shares to account for the decimals
probably 0.04LP shares will become 1.0LP shares in the future
regardless, it will be glorious. Thank you to all the Linkpool team, very professional and skilled.

>What do you think of the amazon QLDB DAML integration?
haven't looked into that actually
AWS has been relatively quiet
what really interests me is how three major tech giants (Amazon, Microsoft, Oracle) engaged in corporate war to win the JEDI DOD contract.

Microsoft ended up winning the $10 billion bid:
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/25/technology/dod-jedi-contract.html

but I believe that Oracle tried getting an edge with the chainlink integration and even filed for an appeal over the RFP process:
https://techcrunch.com/2019/08/26/oracle-files-new-appeal-over-pentagons-10b-jedi-cloud-contract-rfp-process/

in the longterm, I understand that all systems that want to use oracles (including Amazon) will eventually go with chainlink as the standard

"The effort is initiated by ConsenSys, EY and Microsoft, but also participated in by numerous others like Splunk, ChainLink, Unibright and MakerDAO, which are all important in the crypto and blockchain space. Each one of the dozen companies in the initiative brings something different and will play an important role moving forward"

Sergey Nazarov, Co-founder of Chainlink, commented on the DMM protocol saying, “We’re excited to work with DMM to pioneer development of this new class of DeFi products by providing secure and reliable oracles for sourcing information about real-world assets from trusted off-chain sources. Adding real-world assets as collateral for blockchain-based money markets has the potential to create consistent, stable yields in a decentralized, permissionless manner.”

Gregory Keough, from the DeFi Money Market Foundation stated, “We are really pleased to be working with Sergey and the whole Chainlink team in order to bridge the Ethereum ecosystem with real-world assets on-chain. Chainlink’s decentralized oracle network is an essential element to realizing this end in a provably secure manner. Chainlink allows DMM to provide an on-chain view into DMM backing, down to the level of each individual asset, with its valuation, proof of asset and other essential elements for transparency. This type of on-chain view has never been available before and we believe is a true benefit to consumers.”
