I am an American expat working in the crypto industry in China. That is all I can say.

The past few days I have noticed my Chinese colleagues have become more distant towards me. I have heard the phrase "fattening the pig" muttered a few times in Mandarin when they thought I wasn't listening or maybe thought I was just a stupid gweilo. Today I overheard someone say "Soon. We will slaughter the pig when they are drunk and tired."

Maybe I am being paranoid, but I suspect that they (Chinese bitcoin magnates) are planning a massive dump on the 4th of July when Americans would be distracted and unable to react or take advantage. I know there has been growing concern among the Chinese that we are entering a bear market, and I believe this is their way to get out and lock in their profits before the Americans do.

I also suspect that the recent rally may have been their manipulation, in an attempt to get more money back in to crypto and lure Americans into a false sense of security. "Fattening the pig."

Believe me, call me a LARPer, I don't care. I just feel responsible to share what I have heard and my thoughts. If you have profits, now might be a good time to hedge and realize some of them.

Anon looking to buy a home here.

Im hesitant to buy anything right now because things seem a bit overpriced. Is it possible that something like the previous mortgage crisis might happen again in the future, or have safeguards been put in place to prevent that kind of thing from happening again? I dont want to get in a house and have it be worth less than what im paying for it down the road. Is it a good time to buy right now?
