They're just not able to understand the possibilities. Most people live in a world where nothing is real until they sense it right in front of them. When someone who isn't capable of being able to conceptualize what the implications of a shift in technology could bring it confuses them. Their natural response is to shun it as not worthwhile to think about, and they're doing this subconsciously to a degree. Also, the specifics of the tech and how it actually works to begin with are WAY outside of their knowledge base. Its simply not feasible to them as something worth their mental energy. Thats OK with me though. They get to stay poor. Pic related
