Yeah it's pretty easy to fuck up either by hiring the wrong sorts of people, or by doing work yourself that you suck at.

for me hiring came as a necessary adjustment to growth. I took on too much work and had to hire someone. But once I got used to trusting people to do good work and getting rid of people that couldn't do good work it got easier. A lot of what I do is contracted out to other companies as well. That way I don't have to worry much about managing those aspects or projects. They carry insurance guaranteeing quality, and if they fuck up it's not my problem.

The whole shit show is a learning process. Mess up and then improve in future. People like your associate either are doing well or will get run over by competition and lawsuits. Or both. Both can happen. You can do your best and still easily fail. But then you learn and try again, no? I've been in biz almost 30 years now. I've got a huge resume of past failures, and just enough successes to balance them out. But you only need one success.

this is the stuff guys were finding up on the Little Jonny mine dump a couple miles from my house. They found a lot. Most of it small but some over 3 ounces and a couple over 10.

don't bother unless you're genuinely in it for the metal, not to make money. The real money is in industrial mining or at least small-scale cyanide leaching.

both of which require hundreds of millions to get into.
