I'm posting from prison in the Netherlands. Netherlands is soft as fuck - we are allowed to have internets in prison, single cells, no bumraep. I got 9 months for trying to rob a mail office with a watergun with a traffic cone on my head (i got sued by the receptionist who i hurt with the cone).

Netherlands is win. I might just do it again - it's just like home (sittin' on /biz/ all day), but i don't have to work, clean or cook (The food is decent). This question is for someone who has more than one year experience trading cryptos.
First, I'm a no coiner but I'm not new to trading; I've traded stocks, options and forex for years but I'm not trading cryptos because if i don't understand them, I'm not trading them...its that simple. And I've been atching this mania for months now and wonder what exactly are people trading? Why should I buy a Litecoin/Bitcoin/whatever? What value do they provide and what gives it value? I can't find any solid answer why I should buy or sell these because I'm pretty well convinced very few people can answer my question.
Help an oldfag out and educate me on the bitcoin and convince me my dollars should go toward it.

No one really knows, but technically, emotionally and momentum-wise bitcoin (and all coins really) are in a downward fall. Its a self-feeding frenzy at this point and lately there has been absolutely no good news to prop it up.
It has long term value perhaps, but long term in the likeness of dot com stocks in the 90's fading out and reviving a decade later.
But who really knows? I personally would not be buying anything for the foreseeable future and I would sell anything I had after this next bounce which will happen over the next few days
