Originally, it didn't really include the "SHOULD I JUST PAY HER X LINK" part. However, we can easily calculate the equivalent by looking at the historical price data for the Chainlink token (ticker: LINK).
As you can see in the image, LINK closing price price for the date of that post (2020-05-24) was $1.13. So the $500 rent at the time would be approximately 442.48 LINK.
I meant to post this in the pasta thread just now, but it got archived while I edited the image, and I didn't want to let it go to waste, so there it is.
