Nobody knows. The markets are largely moved by algos who have no human oversight. Nobody knows what triggered our AI overlords to sell, but we just go with whatever they do. AI rules over our lives and we're constantly trying to apply reason to their moves, when in reality it's gone past the point of our comprehension; not because AI is so much smarter than us, but because AI is stupid and we've put them in charge of everything that matters.
